I call them Crown Nanotubes because they are related to Crown Polyhedra as the tubular analogues of them. What They are rod like structures and are significant for two reasons:
1) They fit inside nanotubes and bisect, trisect etc the tube according to their geometric affinities.
2) They can be used with Crown Polyhedra to form Multicrown Polyhedra.
Every Crown Polyhedron has its own Crown Tube.
Each is derived from or based upon one of the Platonic or Archimedean Tesselations as well as aperiodic tesselations such as those that are built with pentagons.
